September 26, 2007- ABC News Tonight reports that the US Pentagon has been cyber attacked successfully by the Chinese. The news report stated appropriate responses to attacks would be analyzed by a committee where the hackers would be shutdown from the internet within the United States.
September 4, 2007- Storm Worm returns during Labor Day Holiday after a short break. The new StormWorm campaign attempted to lure internet users to a malicious site once again through emails asking users to click a greeting card link where they are taken to a Happy Labor Day page where a malcious script resides. Then attempts to exploit vulnerabilities in Microsoft, QuickTime and WinZip are utilized. The other recent Storm Worm spoofs include emailing accounts with a message that says the latest musical recording artists have released a YouTube video that is actually a link to a malicious site.
Solution: Do Not open mails from unknown senders.
