January 27, 2007- Secunia has reported an actively exploited vulnerability in Microsoft's Word 2000 and possibly other versions that can be used to compromise user's systems.

Solution: Do Not open Microsoft Office documents that are not trusted.

January 19, 2007- Secunia has developed The Secunia Online Scanner that will check software for the latest updates and security patches. The utility can scan without any programs downloaded to users computers. The scan checks to ensure Microsoft's latest patches are installed, internet browsers are up-to-date, including the browser plug-ins, it checks instant messaging clients, media players, email clients and more.

January 6, 2007- Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Opera that can be exploited by malicious code to compromise a system.

(1) An error in the processing of JPEG files can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a JPEG file with a particularly crafted DHT marker.

(2) An error within creates a SVG Transform From Matrix that can be exploited by passing an incorrect object to the previously stated function.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities allow execution of arbitrary code.
